Eagle River Casino and Travel Plaza is located 8 kilometres northwest of the Town of Whitecourt, Alberta at the intersection of Alberta Provincial Highway 43N and 32N.
Eagle River Casino & Travel Plaza opened on January 31, 2008. A 106-room select service hotel planned for the facility has yet to be developed. It was reported in 2014 that there were disagreement between owners and operators regarding debt, operating costs and the planned hotel.

Eagle River Casino & Travel Plaza is owned by the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation and began as a joint venture with Paragon Gaming.
